Bleachers Delivered to OREC

A GREAT DAY to move a set of bleachers. The OREC Board, along with some drag racing enthusiasts from Sioux City to Omaha gathered at the WM High School in Onawa on Saturday morning, November 7 to move a set of bleachers that the Board acquired when the school advertised them for bids. OREC decided, for the price, these would be excellent for “starter bleachers” on the Pit Side of the OREC facility. About 20 people made short work of the move with the help of a couple of Bobcats and one mighty JD loader courtesy of Schenkelberg Implement.
Although some of us got a little nervous about the prospect of moving them in only two pieces and started to disassemble the front section, the bleachers were ultimately moved in only two sections. . .the first loaded on a trailer provided by Huff Salvage and the other carried handily on the front end loader.
Afterwards, everyone pitching in was treated to pizza and pop delivered by Dan’s Pizza in Onawa. Thanks to everyone who turned out to help and lend a hand in the beginning stages of this project.
